We usually cycle about 5-6 miles in total and always have a longer stop at a café to relax with refreshments when we reach halfway. The whole ride takes about two hours including the break. \nThe ride is especially suitable for you if any of the following apply: \n\nyou have recently learned or are returning to cycling and would like to build your confidence at cycling in the local area.\nyou would like to improve your overall fitness with some gentle exercise and movement – it’s a similar level of effort to going for a walk.\nyou are keen to spend time outdoors connecting with nature and the local community.\nyou would like to meet people and take part in a fun activity together.\n\nYou don’t have to be an experienced cyclist to take part\, as long as you can can steer\, pedal and use your brakes then this ride will be suitable. If you are a complete beginner you should get a free lesson from Camden Council first and then join our rides after you’ve learned the basics. \nThis is a regular ride happening on the first Saturday of each month. The route varies each time typically via cycleways\, quiet roads and parks – we always include a refreshment stop. The ride is organised by Camden Cyclists in collaboration with local NHS GP practices. If you would like to wear a helmet\, we do have a couple available to borrow with the bikes\, but please bring your own if you have access to one as this will ensure it fits well. \nBike checkups:\nIf you haven’t used your bike for a while\, you might be struggling with flat tyres\, worn brake pads and more… We do bike checkups and a mini-workshop to make minor repairs before we set off. The day will include a short classroom learning session with the majority of the training being experiential including\, observation\, hands-on experience with cycles\, discussions with Disabled cyclists\, cycling experience with non-standard cycles and Disabled cyclists and input from the cycling ops team\, campaigns and policy team\, and Disabled cyclists.\n\nPart 2 option 2: Led Ride Experiential Learning \n\nJoin a regular WfW led ride (from HHV) learn about planning accessible rides and speak with disabled cyclists\, accompany their ride with the option of borrowing a non-standard cycle for additional hands-on experience.\nRides usually take place on a Tuesday morning for up to 3 hours and one Sunday per month\, but additional rides take place for special events through the year. 1 LCC participant per led ride.
